Ceramics
Ceramics classes are held twice a year, once in the Spring and Fall. Classes run in 8-week sessions. Cost is $$, plus cost of materials. No tools or paint are required. Everyone is invited.
Healthy Bones for Life
Osteoporosis is a condition that causes bones to lose their strength and to break easily. The Healthy Bones for Life class offered at the Center provides low impact exercises that focus on prevention and slowing the effects of the condition. Classes meet every Monday and Wednesday from 9:30am -10:30am. Weights are provided and exercises are tailored to each individual’s ability. Nutritional information is also discussed. Doctor approval is required to participate in this class. There is no charge for this class.
Line Dancing
Line Dancing class is held every Thursday from 1:30pm-3:00pm. This class is for everyone who likes to dance and have fun at one time. No experience needed. All levels welcome. Each class is $10.00 for members and non-members.
PACE (People with Arthritis Can Exercise)
This class focuses on the individual and is tailored to each participant’s level of ability. Whether you suffer from arthritis or just need a slower paced exercise program, this class is beneficial to all. Classes meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30am-11:30am. There is no charge to participate in this class.
Woodcarving
Bill McCormack, Master Woodcarver for over 30 years, is the instructor for this group. The group meets every Tuesday from 9:00-11:00am to share conversation and have a good time carving wood into whatever the carver would like. Bill provides the wood, ideas and tips. No experience necessary.
Card Stamping
Our Card Stamping class offers participants a great opportunity to create your own beautiful greeting cards that will impress your family and friends. Classes are held the third Wednesday each month at 10:00am and 1:00pm. Participants need to bring their own double stick tape and scissors with all other supplies provided. The cost is just $5.00 per class.
Jewelry Making Class is lead by both Janet Carroll and Doreen Draiss. Classes are held once a month on a Tuesday at 12:30pm. Every month a different project is done. All supplies and tools are provided. The cost is $8.00.
Our Alzheimer’s Support Group sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association meets the third Thursday of every month at 12:00pm. Our group enjoys a complimentary lunch together while discussing various issues faced by caregivers and those they care for. If you or someone you know are interested in attending, please call the Center to sign-up. This group is open to the community.
Quilting group is a great opportunity for you to learn how to quilt. Do you have a sewing machine but you're not sure how to use it? Bring it with you and we will show you how. Quilter's meet every Friday morning at 9:30am to work on various quilting projects. No cost to participate. Participants are responsible for all supplies and sewing machine.
