Senior Express

The Town of Halfmoon provides high quality services for our seniors. The Senior Van Services transports seniors 55 years of age living in the town of Halfmoon. The service transports        seniors to doctor appointments, hair appointments, grocery shopping, and senior center activities.

The van hours are from

7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The Town of Halfmoon funds the Halfmoon Senior Express. There is NO cost to riders.

Out of Town Doctor's Appointments with 7-day notice required

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday

  "Out of Town" Doctor Appointments to the following areas :

Albany,  Cohoes, Latham, Malta, Saratoga, Schenectady, Troy and Waterford

No Doctor Appointments should be made after 1:00 pm

Local Doctor's (Halfmoon/Clifton Park), Senior Center with 7-day notice required

Monday thru Friday

Wednesday and Friday with 7-day notice required

Walmart, Price Chopper, Hannaford, hair appointments within Halfmoon/Clifton Park area as time allows

To reserve a seat, call the Van Dispatcher at (518) 664-2186, between 8:30am and 2:00pm at least one (1) week ahead. Every effort is made to meet the needs of the riders but due to the demand for service, requests are handled on a first come first serve basis.

Please be prepared to give the Dispatcher the Appointment time, Name, Address and Phone number of the doctor you are scheduling with.

On shopping days, please discuss pick-up times with your driver remembering final decisions will be at the discretion of the driver in accordance with his/her schedule. Driver may assist riders with light packages. 

 We appreciate your cooperation and patience while scheduling and driving everyone to and from their destinations. Please be ready 15 minutes prior to your scheduled pick up time. Be prepared to wait approximately 30 minutes to one hour for your return ride due to unexpected delays with other riders. This may not happen every time, but please be prepared by bringing a book, etc.

The van is wheelchair accessible, however, riders must be able to approach the van without assistance from driver as the driver is not responsible for escorting to and from the van. The driver will assist riders in wheelchairs onto the lift and into the van. Please advise us if you need this service.
