Frank J. Pingelski Jr. was inducted into the US Army in December 1970 where he started his basic training in Fort Dix, NJ. After Advanced Individual Training in electronics school in Fort Monmouth, NJ, he was stationed in Europe from 1972 thru 1974 where he attended the Olympics. Frank was stationed in Berlin from 1973-1974 from where he was discharged.

After being discharged, he and his wife Jane Flavin Pingelski moved to Corinth, New York and raised 3 wonderful children. In 1988, Frank re-enlisted in the Air National Guard and retrained in Civil Engineering and also a workload Control Specialist. He was stationed at Stratton ANGB. In 1998, Frank was deployed to the Army National Guard 3-142nd Albany Airport as a Black Hawk Crew Chief.

Once again he was redeployed as an Air National Guardsmen from Stratton AFB to retrain at Lackland AFB, Texas and from there he deployed to McMurdo Base, Antarctica  in January 2000. In September 2002 he became a Vehicle Operation Specialist and after a brief stop at Ft. Leonard, MO he was deployed for special assignment in the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from January 2004 thru March 2004. Once again Frank was called on to be re-activated for deployment from September 2004- September 2005 in Iraq.

Frank was promoted to Vehicle Operation Supervisor at the rank of Master Sergeant in 2008 and retired in October of 2010.
