Colonel Donald Alfred Paris served in the United States Army from 1969 through 1993.  He initially received an ROTC Commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Combat Engineer Corps, from RPI during the Vietnam War era and was assigned to the United States Army Reserve (USAR) Company C of the 464th Engineer Battalion in Schenectady.  He completed both the Army engineer Office Basic and Advance courses.  He applied for and was granted an education extension in order to obtain a Master’s Degree in Microbiology.  In 1971 he married Christine Gendron and was employed at the then Sterling Drug Company in Rensselaer, NY.  As a result of his education degrees and civilian employment he applied for and was given a direct Commission as a 1st Lieutenant Bacteriologist in the Army Medical Service Corps, and was reassigned to the USAR 364th General Hospital in Albany.  In 1977 he graduated from the Army’s Command and General Staff college.  He and his wife and their 4 children lived in Saratoga Springs until his employment was relocated to Pennsylvania in 1989.  while in PA he transferred to the National Guard’s 108th Combat Support Hospital in Philadelphia.

In 1997 he cofounded a pharmaceutical contract research company called Precision Research, Inc.  He remained in the Army until shortly after Operation Desert Storm and retired from the USAR after 24 years of service.  He continued to run his company until his civilian retirement in 2012, at which time he moved back to New York, residing in the Town of Halfmoon.
