Kapner, Mikhail

Squad  Commander,   Sg.  Mikhail  Kapner  (1924  –  September  23,  1943.  )  

 

Mikhail  was  born  in  1924  in  Odessa  (former  USSR)  to  a  big  family  of  2  brothers  and  3  sisters.  He was  17  when  Nazi  Germany  invaded  his  city  shortly  after  WWII  began. 

His  family,  among  many others,  were  evacuated  far  east.  Instead  of  joining  his  family,  

he  followed  his  heart  into  the  army. 

 

Shortly  after  his  deployment  he  became  Sergeant  and  Squad  Commander  of  his  unit.  He  was killed  in  battle  on  September  23,1943.
