Eugene M. Maddon enlisted the United States Army Air Force on March 30, 1944.  He achieved the rank of Corporal.   Corporal Haddon was an airplane mechanic stationed in Walla Walla, Washington.  He spent his time in the service in the United States maintain and servicing the fighter planes that were sent overseas.  Eugene was honorably discharged on March 9, 1946.

After Eugene’s tour of duty, he returned to his home state of New York where he married Agnes M. Livingston.  Mr. and Mrs. Haddon raised four children.  Gene worked as a mechanic for the Scotia Glen School District for 30 years.  During his later life, Mr. Haddon volunteered and helped restore some of the airplanes that are now on display at the Air Museum in Scotia, New York his hometown for over 30 years.
