Town of Halfmoon Supervisor Kevin Tollisen announced today that the Halfmoon Senior Center will be closed for all programs effective Monday, March 16th. Supervisor Tollisen stated that the decision was made after consultation with the Town Board, Members of the Board of Directors of the Senior Center, and Senior Center Officers.   Supervisor Tollisen went on to further explain that this is being done out of an “abundance of caution” to protect our Seniors.   “The health, safety and well being of our Seniors is of the highest and utmost priority” said Supervisor Tollisen.  Effective Monday, the Senior Center will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected to ensure Town facilities remain clean and germ free as possible.  The Senior Center Director and Senior Center Staff will continue to be available to assist Halfmoon Seniors with their questions, concerns or if there is anything that is needed.  The Home Delivered Meals Program will continue to be delivered to Halfmoon residents’ homes by Town of Halfmoon Staff.

Supervisor Tollisen further stated that, at this time, the Senior Van Services will continue to be available to address the critical needs of our Seniors, but will be limited to medically necessary  appointments and grocery shopping.   Vans and Busses will be thoroughly cleaned daily and all efforts will be made to ensure the highest of service to our Seniors.

The Town of Halfmoon remains committed to providing the most up to date and accurate information available.  Supervisor Tollisen and the Town Board have regular communications with our Emergency Management Team and in concert with our Emergency Management Plan  to discuss and make decisions which are in the best interest of the Town residents.

If you have any questions, or If a member of our Town Team can be of assistance to you, please call Supervisor Tollisen’s Office at 518-371-7410 extension 2200.
