Halfmoon Highway Department Issues Traffic Advisory Announcing New Traffic Pattern for the Intersection of Woodin Road and Stone Quarry Road

The busy intersection will now become a four-way stop

Halfmoon, NY – The Town of Halfmoon Highway Department today issued a traffic advisory for Halfmoon residents and motorists that, beginning the week of June 20, 2023, the intersection of Woodin Road and Stone Quarry Road in the Town of Halfmoon will become a four-way stop intersection.

After a thoughtful, careful review by the Town, Superintendent Bill Bryans said that a determination was made that the busy intersection warrants a four-way stop to maximize the safety of Halfmoon residents and motorists.

The new traffic pattern is expected to improve the efficiency of the intersection for all users. The Town of Halfmoon Highway Department will undertake efforts to alert drivers of the forthcoming change. Drivers are advised to exercise caution and follow the new traffic rules when approaching and entering the intersection.

Halfmoon Highway Superintendent Bill Bryans said, “We are making this change to enhance the safety and quality of life for our Halfmoon residents and motorists. We appreciate the cooperation and patience of everyone who travels through this intersection as we implement this necessary improvement. We believe that this four-way stop will reduce the risk of collisions and injuries, as well as improve traffic flow and mobility in the area.”
