Town Trails

 

Champlain Canal Trail

This trail follows the historic Old Champlain Canal and has two parking areas.  The full length of the trail once completed will connect the Town of Waterford and the City of Mechanicville.

     

Location:  Trailhead parking at 8 Brookwood Road
and 20 Upper Newtown Road

Crescent Park Trail

The trail is located along the Mohawk River and has two parking areas.  Plans to extend the trail West will connect with the Town of Clifton Park.

      

Location:  Parking lots across from 3 Old Canal Road, and 9 Terminal Road

Town Park Trail

This trail winds through all areas of the park, and includes several wooden bridges over protected wetlands that support a variety of vegetation and wildlife.

Development Trails

These trails are interior to their respective development.  The Town ownership will allow larger, future trail connections outlined in the Trails Master Plan

Location:  Off of Covington Drive

Ushers Road State Forest
At the northern end of Town there is a parking area that serves as a trail head to the Ushers Road State Forest Preserve.

Location:  Across from 165 Ushers Road
Type:  Gravel parking area
Length:  300 sq. ft.
