Welcome

On behalf of the Town of Halfmoon and the Halfmoon Town Board, I would like to welcome you to our website.  Halfmoon was founded in 1788 and is a scenic community with a current population of over 23,000 residents. Halfmoon offers the “best of everything”. We are a growing community with excellent educational institutions, friendly neighborhoods, numerous historical sites, Senior Programs and recreational trails and parks that have many activities for individuals of all ages.

I hope you find our website informative, user friendly and convenient. It is constantly being updated and improved and is intended to be your source to obtain useful information about Town programs, meeting agendas and minutes, forms and more.  Please take the time to subscribe and always be up-to-date on Town and community happenings.  Make sure to check out the Community section on our updated webpage, which we hope you will find as a great resource for all things Halfmoon!

Your Halfmoon Town Team is constantly striving to work with our residents to provide additional services and programming.  On June 9, 2018 the Town held a ribbon cutting and grand opening for the new dog park.  The dog park is open dawn to dusk. To date, over 550 permits have been purchased.  On June 20th, 2018 the Town of Halfmoon opened its first Farmers Market. We are pleased to partner with LifeSong in this endeavor.   The market is located in Abele Park, across from the town hall complex entrance. It is open every Wednesdays from 3pm to 6pm until September 26th, 2018. Come out and support our local farmers and vendors.  Finally we are pleased to announce the Spray Pad, located in the Town Park, has been opened and is an added feature for our children to enjoy during those hot weather days. Thank you to Senator Kathy Marchione for securing monies to assist with the creation of the Spray Pad.  The Town of Halfmoon has also commenced construction of a large scale water project to connect to the Saratoga County Water Authority. This has been a project we have been planning for some time and pleased that construction at Coons Crossing is under way. When complete, the Town of Halfmoon will have two separate sources of water to ensure Town residents have safe, quality drinking water for decades.

While traveling through the Town Park please be sure to stop and visit the Veterans’ Memorial. This is a true tribute to the men and women who have served our country and a reminder that America’s “True Heroes” are our Military.  If you would like to honor your American Hero, memorial walkway bricks are still available for purchase.  Please find the online form under the Veterans’ Memorial page.  A POW/MIA statue, located at the center of the memorial, is a much needed reminder to never forget those who never came home. May God bless all of our military and their families.
