New Recreational Opportunity!

Halfmoon Scentral Bark Park

Currently Halfmoon has no off leash recreational opportunities for owners and their dogs.  As always dogs on leashes are welcome at all of our town parks. Owners are required to clean up after their pets to preserve our recreational spaces for the enjoyment of all.

BUT WE HAVE EXCITING NEWS!!!

I am sure resident dog owners have been anxiously awaiting the opening of our Town of Halfmoon Scentral Bark Park, which has been sited at the juncture of Route 236 and Harris Road.

Fencing was completed prior to the first snowfall last winter, but the weather prevented other site amenties from being completed.  The parking area and a path to the enclosures have been finished. Several benches have been installed with more to be added.  With the advent of Spring, our Town Parks Department will be planting some shade trees within the confines of the park, as well as adding landscaping berms ouside the fencing. Water fountains will be installed.

Use of the park will be restricted to permit holders, but will not be limited to Halfmoon residents.  The yearly permit fee will be $25.00.  All applicants must have both current rabies vaccination certificates and valid dog licenses

There will be a "soft opening"  (date TBD) prior to our
